MVS Files

There are 5 files under the gmcstars_xxx/mvs directory. One, install.xmit, is the installation JCL. If you desire to use this batch job to allocate the MVS data sets, use the ftp command to upload this file to your MVS TSO system. Use the TSO RECEIVE command to put the JCL into a CNTL data set and customize it as needed. The install job when run will allocate a program library, gmcstars-prefix.GMCSTARS.V1R0.LOAD; gmcstars-prefix.GMCSTARS.V1R0.PARMLIB, the GMCSTARS runtime parameters; and gmcstars-prefix.GMCSTARS.V1R0.DATA, containing the definition of your time zone. In addition, the install job will preallocate space for the userid.LOAD.XMIT, since it is large.

If desired, you can allocate the data sets via ISPF Option 3.2. The data set characteristics for the MVS data sets are described in ISPF Data Set Allocation Parameters.
